With heavy hearts, we are saddened to say goodbye to our son, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, and friend. Gabriel Rivas (Big G), 42, passed away peacefully at his home Wednesday, December 19, 2018. He was born September 1, 1976, in Ogden, UT. Son of Shirley (Jose) Ramirez and Luciano Rivas Jr. He loved being a grandfather to his grandchildren, Arizona and Steph. They were the highlight of his life. His hobbies in life were installing stereo systems, family gatherings, and being the jokester. Gabriel was a kind and loving person with a big heart. He was adored by his many nieces and nephews; he had a special bond with his nephew James. He is leaving a big hole in our hearts and will not be the same without him. He is survived by his parents; his five children, Myriah, Sonia, Luciano, Gabriel, and Adrian Rivas; two sisters, Alma (Ignacio) Quezada and Lenor (Agustin) Olivarez; two grandchildren, Stephan Joshongeva and Arizona Rivas; and many uncles, aunts, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Luciano Sr. and Lenor Rivas and Robert and Vera Garcia. A Vigil with Rosary will be held Friday, December 28, 2018 at Leavitts Mortuary, 836 36th St., Ogden, UT from 6:00 8:00 pm with the Rosary at 7:30 pm. Funeral Mass will be at St. Josephs Catholic Church, 514 24th St., Ogden, UT. on Saturday, December 29, 2018 11:00 a.m. Interment Leavitts Aultorest Memorial Park.
