George Crew's Obituary

George, 90 passed away November 23, 2014. Born to Oscar and Ona in LeRoy, West Virginia. George was married to Linda. George served in the Navy during WWII; he was a 1st class Baker on the USS St. Louis. After the war he went to Chicago to learn heating and air conditioning then came back to Springfield and started his own business, Crew Heating and Air Conditioning. He sold his business and went to work for Clark County as Chief Building Inspector. After retiring from Clark County he worked for Madison County as building Inspector. George loved fishing at Lake Erie with his dear friend Jim Carty. He hunted with his best friend Gilbert Hufford. He loved baking, gardening and building. George is survived by his wife Linda, five grandchildren, Shawn, Matt, Terra, Jason, Brian, three great grandchildren, one brother Lindy and many nephews and nieces. He is preceded in death by wife Betty, daughter Terrie Henson, parents, three brothers; Roy, Carl, Shurley, three sisters, Ada, Alvie, Ruth and many nephews and nieces. Memorial Services will be held at 3:00 pm December 7, 2014 at Clifton Ave Church of God, Springfield, OH. Arrangements under the direction of Leavitts Mortuary.
