Jacqueline Jean Bartelsen, age 85, passed away on Friday, December 29, 2017. She was born October 16, 1932, to Hugo A. and Avis A. Hagen in Chicago, Illinois. On September 13, 1952, she married Howard D. Bartelsen and together they had three children, Michael Bartelsen (Joanne) of Lockport, Illinois, Sandra Bartelsen of Datil, New Mexico, and Amy Miller (Mark), Ogden, Utah. She has five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved very much. Jackie moved to Utah in 1970 and spent most of her career working for the IRS in Ogden, Utah, retiring in 1997. She attended Washington Heights Baptist Church and had many wonderful friends there, and especially enjoyed her Bible Study group. She loved to play cards, visit with friends, and most of all root for her favorite baseball team, the Chicago White Sox. She is survived by her children, grandchildren, one sister, Nancy (Bob) Matthews of Albuquerque, N.M., one sister-in-law Kathi Hagen of Roscoe, Illinois, one niece and six nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard, and brothers, James R. Hagen and Howard B. Hagen. A Memorial Service will be held to Celebrate her Life on Saturday, January 6, 2018, at 11:00 am at Washington Heights Baptist Church, 1770 East 6200 South in Ogden, Utah. Visitation with family will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. Arrangements under the direction of Leavitts Mortuary.
