James Carson Harmon, Saint George, died on September 28, 2021. He was 95 years of age. He was born on October 2, 1925. He is the third son of Charles F and Lou Oma Harmon of Shawnee, Oklahoma. He was educated in Shawnee public schools and later attended the University of Oklahoma. He studied engineering. He joined the US Army on December 7, 1943. He served in the European Theater of Operations and was in three major battles with the 22nd Infantry Regiment, 4th Division, Normandy, France, and the Rhineland. He also was a Korean veteran serving 1950-1951. During his service, he earned four Bronze Stars. He worked at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City for 27 years. He retired in 1974 where he met and married Ruth Riddell, who died in 1994. Later he met and married Betty Dover Rowe, who died in 2016. He was a member of the Ogden Eagles 2472, and a member of the Elks Golden Spike Lodge 719. A Viewing will be held on Tuesday, October 5, 2021, from 9:45 -10:45 a.m. at Leavitts Mortuary 836 36th Street, Ogden, Utah, followed by a Graveside Service at 11:00 a.m. at the Roy City Cemetery, 5200 S 2300 W, Roy, Utah.
