Joseph Junior Maylin, loving husband, father, and grandfather, 89, died March 5th, 2015 at his home. He was born on October 19, 1925 in Kaysville, Utah to Joseph Hyrum Maylin and Margaret Janette Odd. He married Evelyn Mae Barnes on November 12, 1948. Their marriage was later solemnized on June 2, 1962 in the Mesa Arizona Temple. They shared 56 wonderful years together before she passed away. Joe served in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years and upon retiring from the military in 1968, he then worked for 18 years at Jensen Brothers General Tire. In his spare time Joe loved to bowl, and for several years he was involved with Special Olympics and found great joy as he worked with the kids. Joe was kind and caring and enjoyed meeting new people and after a brief conversation had often made a lifelong friend. He was also a big tease, in fact when answering the phone, his favorite greeting was "Joes Bar and Grill". Joe is survived by his children: Carolyn Rusch, Allen (Kathryn) Maylin, Brent (Julie) Maylin, Joseph (Diane) Maylin and Pat Gabaldon. He has 22 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. A special thanks to the staff at Legacy Hospice especially Bonnie, Kim and Ashley for their loving care the past two years. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 10th, 2015 at Leavitts Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden, UT. Friends may call Monday evening March 9th, 2015 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm and from 9:45 - 10:30 am on Tuesday prior to the service.
