Joy was born in Oakland California, raised in Utah and moved to California with her husband and two young daughters in the mid 60s and added two more children to the family 10 years later. She graduated in 1962 from Ben Lomond High School and received her AA degree from Delta College. She has lived in San Jose, Livermore, Manteca, Elk Grove and Sacramento and makes friends everywhere she goes. She loved to plan, organize and entertain. Family was what mattered most to her. She is survived by her four children, Michelle Wardleigh Edis, Sherrie Lynn Say, Brenda Gay Marchetti and Robert Leland Wardleigh, Jr. as well as her grandchildren Michael Allen Sawyer, Wayne Robert Rowland, Jayne Elizabeth Sawyer, Mandy Rowland, Hillary Morgan Sawyer, Felicity Anne Sawyer, Robert Leland Wardleigh III, Caileigh Wardleigh, Samuel Jacob Marchetti, Cora Leigh Wardleigh, Nathan Andrew Marchetti, Emily Claire Marchetti.
