Junior Walter Dimond 2 November 1924 24 December 2013 Passed away at his home on 24 December 2013 about 7:00 am. Walt passed away after he had been suffering from an infection in his leg for a few weeks. His memory was failing and he was having difficulty dealing with the normal day to day tasks of life. His parents were Walter Abraham Dimond and Nora Agnes Turpin. Walt was the last of eight children, Lamoyne Elizabeth, Weldon A , Lisle, Larimer Daniel ,Alva Nora, Elizabeth, Rae Henry and Junior Walter Dimond. Walt was born in West Jordan, Utah at his parents home on Redwood road. Walt is survived by his wife, Norma Bell Cundick Dimond, two sons - Larimer (Pat) Kaysville Utah, Craig (Lana) Layton, Utah and two daughters Carla Mountainview, California, Cheri Ogden, Utah. Walt and Norma had a son Brian Carl who died as an infant. Walt and Norma have 18 grand children and 24 great grandchildren with one more announced. Walt and Norma were sealed together in the Salt Lake City Temple 21 November 1947. They made their home 12 miles north of Kemmerer, Wyoming on the Hamsfork river. They lived the first year in a log house that had a burlap ceiling until Walt was able to build a new house for his sweetheart wife. Walt was a cattle rancher and he loved the ranching life even though it was a tough way to provide for a family. Walt and Norma left Wyoming in 1965 and purchased a larger ranch 2 miles south of Montpelier, Idaho where they lived until 1977. Walt then moved his family to Utah settling in Layton and then moving to Ogden off of 12th Street where he passed way. Walt was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in many capacities including, Bishopric Counselor under several bishops, Bishop, Ward Young Mens President, Stake High Councilor, Counselor in the Montpelier Stake presidency, asistant in the High Priest Group in the Ogden 5th Ward and many other callings. Friends and relatives are invited to services that will be held at the Ogden 5th Ward building, 1608 East 1300 South in Ogden, Utah on 30 December 2013 at 11:00am. A viewing will be held on Sunday evening 29 December 2013 from 6:30-8:00pm at the Leavitt Mortuary at 836 36th St, Ogden. A viewing will also be held from 9:30am 10:30am on Monday 30 December 2013 at the Ogden 5th Ward building before the funeral services. Interment will be at West Jordan Cemetery.
