Obituary

Our dear husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, Lee, passed away peacefully on February 26th, 2017 after complications associated with lung cancer. The love of his life, Diena, was by his side as she has been for over 53 years. Lee was born in Ogden on April 24, 1936 to Adrian and Vera Dalebout. He was the youngest of three boys (Harold, Martin, Lee). Dad graduated from Ogden High School in 1954 where he excelled in many sports including football, baseball, basketball, track, boxing, and wrestling. He was awarded a football scholarship to Weber Junior College and Utah State. He selected Weber College so he could be closer to his parents because of their health issues. His college career was cut short by a shoulder injury. Lee went to work for Hill Air Force Base where he served loyally for over 32 years. He also joined the Utah National Guard where he served for nine years. After his retirement from Hill AFB, he worked at the Barn Golf Course for over 20 years. This was a natural fit for someone who loved being outside and hitting the long ball. We ran out of room to store all the trophies he accumulated. Dad and mom were married in January of 1964, and later sealed in the Bountiful LDS Temple. They stayed by each others side through thick and thin for over 53 years. Mom and dad were blessed with two children, Cindy Wiggins (Kent) and Scott Dalebout (Gloria), five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Dad was so very proud of all their many accomplishments. He was preceded in death by his father (Adrian), mother (Vera), and his brothers Harold and Martin. Lee absolutely loved the outdoors and passed on this love to his family. He could be found in the mountains whenever a hunt was open or the fish were biting. During the winter months, dad could be found at the bowling alley. He loved the sport and once scored a 297 at 75 years of age. We would like to express our sincere appreciation to the caregivers who helped so much. We would like to especially thank Dr. Steinfeldt for his compassion and support for mom through this difficult journey.
