Michael C. Collins, 43, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on July 20, 2017 after a
struggle of complications caused by a major stroke. Michael was born in Utah on November 11, 1973.
Mike eventually joined Anaconda Job Corps in Montana and gained skills that would help him become
a concrete finisher and welder later in life. Mike met Mandy in July of 2014 and ended up marrying
her in November of 2015. Mike was a happy, caring man that had the most contagious laugh youve
ever heard. He was always wanting to know more about the people around him and could find a
connection with each person if you let him talk with you long enough. Those that knew him knew
he had struggled with his own demons but had remained sober from alcohol for 9 years and clean
from narcotics for 10 years. He was proud of his sobriety and was eager to help others that were
struggling with their own journey. He was a loving husband and father. Lovingly referred to as the
"Irish Mountain Troll by those close friends and his loved ones. Mikes contagious laughter and
ready to flash smile will be missed.
Mike is survived by his wife, Mandy Collins (Tidwell), 41, Roy, Utah; son, Preston Collins (23),
Provo, Utah; his sister, Sarah Prestwich, Washington; and mother-in-law, Peggy Tidwell, Mt.
Pleasant, Utah.
A small remembrance service will be held for close friends and family members in West Jordan, Utah
on Saturday, July 29, 2017.
