Michael Ray Campbell, 29, of South Ogden, Utah passed away in San Antonio, Texas July 10, 2014, from an aneurysm.
Michael was born in Ogden, Utah. He graduated from Bonneville High School and attended Weber State University, Alamo College, and Wayland Baptist University.
Michael joined the Navy in 2009. He served at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina and later transferred to Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, TX. At the time of his passing he worked at Camp Bullis.
At Camp Bullis Michael worked alongside his military brothers and sisters in the Air Force, Army and Navy teaching in the Defense Medical Readiness Training Institute (DMRTI). Michael received both the Blue Jacket and Sailor of the Year while serving in the Navy, as well as Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy Achievement, The Good Conduct Award, and The Military Volunteer Service Medal.
Michael was known for his quirky humor and contagious laughter. He was loved by many people and will be remembered for his big smile, his gentleness, and his willingness to help. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in various church callings.
Michael is survived by his two boys, Bryce Campbell and Nathan Campbell, whom he loved very much; his father Richard Campbell; two brothers Richard (Tleena) Campbell, and Joshua (Maria) Campbell; five sisters Ruth (Dave) Robb, Emma (Brent) Van Every, Sarah Campbell, Jennifer (John) Taylor, and Beth (Nathan) Geddes.
Michael was preceded in death by his mother, Pamela Rae Campbell.
A viewing will be held from 1:00 pm -2:00 pm followed by the Funeral Service at 2:00 pm Thursday, July 17, 2014, at the LDS Church on 3755 Porter Ave Ogden, Utah. The graveside services will follow at Leavitts Aultorest Memorial Park, 836-36th St., Ogden, UT.
