Patricia Ann Garner, age 79 passed away at her home on October 30, 2013. She was born in Omaha, Nebraska on July 4, 1934 to Walter Jones and Kathleen Bryant. She graduated from Ogden High School in 1952. She married Clair Eugene Garner on June 16, 1956. Pat received her Bachelor of Science in Education in 1958 and her Masters of Science in Economics in 1977. She traveled with her military family to Virginia, Arkansas, California and Okinawa and lived in Caracas, Venezuela with her husband and children from 1969-1971. Pat worked as a teacher and counselor at Weber Basin Job for 25 years. She retired from the DDO in 1994. She was active in the Weber County Democrats and League of Women Voters and enjoyed playing bridge and mahjong with her sister Phyllis and her good friends. Pat enjoyed water aerobics and made many good friends there. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gene and her son Steven Garner. She is survived by her daughters Kathy Garner of Portland, OR., Susan Garner of Ogden UT., sister Phyllis MacDonald, Ogden, UT., brother Ray Jones, Ogden, UT. and son-in-law John McLaughlin of Portland, OR. There will be an open house in celebration of her life at the Eccles Community Art Center, Wednesday, November 13, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Pat loved animals, so in lieu of flowers please donate to the Humane Society of Utah www.utahhumane.org or Best Friends Animal Sanctuary www.bestfriends.org.
