Pauline was born December 27, 1938, to James and Renske Shelton in Ogden Utah. She attended Ogden City schools and lived her entire life in Ogden. During her employment, she was a funny and well-liked waitress and bartender at the Ramada Inn, Flying J, Elks and Weber State University.
In 1956, she married John Church for 30 years and together they had five children, Laura, Lynda, John (Short), Kenny and Casey; along with 21 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She loved spending time with her family, having parties, camping, traveling to see them, drinking wine or having them just come to visit for a while. She would call and sing to them on their birthday and always on the first day of school. She loved and was so proud of each of them.
In 1992, she married James (Jim) Fitzsimmons. He added two children, Alan Fitzsimmons and Tami Harlow; along with four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Pauline was especially close to Tami and loved her very much.
Jim referred to Pauline as Queenie and he treated her like a queen. He would say what Queenie wants Queenie gets. They loved each other deeply and laughed often. They loved to travel and camp. Their favorite happy place was Monte Cristo with their mountain family. They shared great times and laughter with Sam and Dana Slaughter and Kevin and Deanne Homer and many others.
The family would like to thank the many neighbors and caregivers over the years especially her niece Lisa Brown who she loved so much!
Her laughter and love will be missed by many.
She is preceded in death by husband Jim Fitzsimmons, her parents James and Renske Shelton, Sister Emma Brown, Son-in-law Tom Duncan, and Niece Heidi Shelton, many Aunts, Uncles and some dear friends.
She is survived by her children Laura (Joe) South, Lynda Duncan, Kenny Church, John (Karen) Church and Casey (Christy) Church, two bonus children Tami (Pete) Harlow and Alan (Lynn) Fitzsimmons, 25 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, brothers Dan (Rita)Shelton, Don (Cathy) Shelton, Dean (Kathy)Shelton and many loved nieces and nephews.
