Our beloved father, husband, grandfather, and great grandfather, Raymond Emanual Lund, Jr., passed away peacefully at home, on Friday, August 9, 2013, surrounded by his family.
He was born on June 29, 1926 in Ogden, Utah to Annie Mae (Jackie) Densley and Raymond E. Lund, Sr. He graduated from Ogden High School in 1944 and served in the US Navy during World War II. On August 20, 1948, he married Marlene Evelyn Sturm in Ogden, Utah and this year they would have celebrated 65 years of marriage.
His greatest love was his family and he always had time to be with them. He loved golfing (scoring 4 holes-in-one!), bowling, dancing, playing bridge, a good mystery story, and always had a jigsaw puzzle in the works. His beautiful counted cross stitchings were works of joy and perfection and he shared them with each family member and many friends.
Ray is survived by his loving wife, Marlene Lund; two children Lynette L. (Michael) Satterfield, Roy, Utah, and Connie Rae (Torris) Brand, Roy, Utah; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and one brother, Gary (Janna) Lund, and sister-in-law Ivaloo Lund. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister Virginia Anderson; and one brother Darrell Lund.
Special heartfelt thanks to each Legacy Hospice attendant for the excellent attention and care they gave to Ray and to his family.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at 10:00am at Leavitts Aultorest Memorial Park, 836 36th Street. Condolences may be emailed to the family at www.leavittsmortuary.com.
