Richard Albert Pfaff, 76, passed away Thursday July 25th, 2019. He was born June 6th, 1943 to Beatrice and Edward Pfaff in New Lisbon, Wisconsin. Richard graduated from Godwin High School before serving a faithful mission in the German South Mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. After his mission he moved out to Utah to attend Brigham Young University, where he met and married the love of his life, Linda. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple on June 5th, 1969 by President Ezra Taft Benson. While attending BYU, Richard taught and competed in competition and dramatic fencing. Richard and Linda were the envy of their classmates because, after they got married, they were able to rent a house, right off of campus. He graduated with his Masters Degree in 1971.
Richard held many callings in the church, including a counselor in the bishopric, high counsel, High Priests Group Leader, Stake Young Men's Presidency, and temple ordinance worker in the Ogden Temple.
Richard was a lifelong member of the Boy Scouts of America. He earned his Eagle Scout rank in his youth, and was recognized with the Silver Beaver Award after many years as an adult working and volunteering in the organization. Richard served many years in the Rotary Clubs of Ogden and Brigham City; while more recently he served in the Lions Club of Riverdale.
He loved spending time with his family and cherished every memory with them, both near and far.
Richard and Linda have three children, Angela (John) Hubbell of Morgan, Aaron (Tamara) of Riverdale, and Adam (Millie) of South Ogden.
Richard is survived by, his wife of 50 years, Linda Pfaff, his three children, Angela, Aaron, Adam and their spouses; his ten grandchildren, Julian, Harrison, Olivia, Abigail, Nathan, Aiden, Ammon, Eli, Karen and Emanuel. He is also survived by his sister Vicki (Jack) Lewis, and brother Bill, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, older brother Carl, and his beloved dog Cappy.
Funeral services will be held at Leavitt's Mortuary, 836 36th St., Ogden, UT on Wednesday July 31st at 11 am. A viewing will be held Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 pm, and again Wednesday morning from 10 to 10:45 am.
Interment at Leavitts Aultorest Memorial Park.
