Sharon Eva Ogden Winn passed away May 19, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. Sharon was born October 4, 1933 in Ogden, Utah. She was the only daughter born to Wendell Flowers Ogden and Eva Murrel Gale.
Sharon married Zan J. Winn in the Salt Lake City Temple on September 12, 1951. They were later divorced.
Sharon lived in Ogden her entire life. She was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. In 1937, the Mayor of Ogden presented her with the "Ogdens Little Sweetheart" card as the Queen Poster Child for the Ogden Pioneers Day Parade.
She graduated from Ogden High School in 1951 and from Weber State College as an LPN in 1967. She also worked as a model in high end magazines in the 60s. She was very talented and creative in many ways.
Sharon, "Sama", loved her children, but enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren the most! We have very fond memories of Sama at the Riverview Apartments enjoying time with her at the swimming pool. Holidays with Sama were the best!! She was an amazing cook and the meals she prepared were feasts that could feed the family for weeks! She later moved to 21st Street where her and her son Blake planted the most beautiful flowers and vegetable garden. The family enjoyed picking vegetables during their visits.
Her son Blake was the best son a mother could ask for. During her later years, Blake was her caregiver and stayed by her side until her passing. He took care of her and loved her unconditionally. Sama and Blake were known for their hummingbird feeders. Blake told the family that every time he sees a hummingbird, he will know that Sama will always be with him.
Sharon is survived by two daughters: Sharolyn Winn and Vicki Hoskins; one son, Zan Blake Winn; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one brother, Dean Ogden.
Sharon is preceded in death by one son, Perris Zan Winn; and one brother, Don W. Ogden.
The family would like to thank the Mountain View Nursing staff and Inspiration Hospice for the loving care they provided Sama.
Private Family Services will be held on Friday, May 22, 2015.
Arrangements under the direction of Leavitts Mortuary.
