Una Roskelley's Obituary

Una Kingsford Roskelley, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend passed away at her home, surrounded with love by family members, on December 27, 2013. Una was born October 6, 1921 in Franklin, Idaho to Dee Day Kingsford and Phyllis Whitehead Kingsford. She attended North Cache High School and later worked at Del Monte Cannery, Union Pacific Railroad laundry and as a secretary in the Utah General Depot (DDO) in Ogden, Utah. Una married Myron David Roskelley on January 12, 1940 in Logan, UT. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Ogden Temple on March 6, 1980. They enjoyed 60 years together before "Red" passed away in 2000. They lived most of their married life in Washington Terrace, UT where they raised a family. Surviving Una are four children, Myron Dee Roskelley (Deanne) of Washington Terrace, UT, Kaye (Dick) Fischell of Georges Mills, NH, Susan (Richard) Petersen of Brigham City, UT and Terri (William) Tervort of Liberty, MO; 15 grandchildren, one deceased, 16 great grandchildren, one deceased, and a brother, Deon Kingsford of Franklin, ID. Her parents, husband, and her sister, Lou Jean Kingsford Harris, preceded her in death. Una loved knitting and especially crocheting. She has warmed many hearts and homes with countless beautiful afghans and other creations lovingly made and given away. She also enjoyed painting and crafting a variety of projects. Una enjoyed the outdoors, camping, fishing and sometimes accompanying Red on a hunt. Una spent many a night in a camper or trailer on the river waiting to throw her hook in and "skunk" Red. She was always enjoyable to be around and had a kind word and ready laugh or smile for all who visited with her. She made wonderful bread and was always having her kids or grandkids "run a pan of rolls" to neighbors or others she felt could use a lift. Una loved to visit and could be found on the phone enjoying a chat just about any time of day. Una served as the Visiting Teacher Coordinator in the Washington Terrace 2nd Ward for nearly 35 years, and was always faithful and diligent in her calling and caring for the sisters in her ward. She loved easily and was so funny that people around her were always smiling. She will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her and loved her.
