Wilfred was born July 26, 1943 to William B. Hurley and Anne K. Dowling in Boston, Ma. He passed away May 3, 2017. Fred was raised in Boston in an orphanage until he was 17, he was adopted at that time and a few months later he joined the Army. After serving 2 years there he joined the Air Force and served 27 years. He served 3 tours in Vietnam, during that time he was a prisoner of war for 8 months. After retiring from the military he had various careers and retired in 2010 after working as a safety coordinator for the University of Texas. Wilfred is survived by his wife; Gay Honneywell, his children; Lisa Miller, Laura Berrett, Terri Honneywell, Michael Honneywell, Melodee Honneywell, Belinda Simmons, 10 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by Helon Simmons. A Celebration of Life will be held privately with family and friends.
