Albert Junior PolingROY-Albert Junior Poling, age 81, passed away peacefully at his home on May 13, 2011. He was born on 18 April, 1930 in Cross Plains, Switzerland County, Indiana to Albert Arville and Anna May Tomlin. He was the oldest of six children, Robert Franklin, Lena May, Richard Lee, and a child Alberta Louise, all of which whom preceded him in death. His youngest surviving brother is Donald Lee. Albert joined the United States Air Force at a young age. It was while he was stationed at Hill AFB that he met his beloved wife, LaVern Hilda Bosgieter, whom he married on 1 Aug. 1950 in Ogden, Weber, Utah. His marriage of 56 years included military travel with his family to Alaska, Wyoming, Texas, North Carolina, Michigan, and England. His family of four children are Dale Albert Poling, Susan Ann (George) Redfield, Darrell Jay (Gerri) Poling, and Carla Lynn (Wally). Albert served in the Korean War. Camping, fishing, and gardening were things he especially enjoyed. He was preceded in death by both of his parents, his wife and oldest son, Dale. He is survived by grandchildren Brandon, Bert, and Brian Trevino, Dale Carl Poling, Coby and Nicholas Brown, Jonathan and Cristie Redfield and Paul Gailey. Albert also had great grandchildren. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, May 18th, from 6-8 p.m. at Leavitts Mortuary on 836 36th Street in Ogden. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 19th at 11 a.m. at Leavitts Mortuary in Ogden. Friends may visit on Thursday at the Mortuary from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services.Interment in Aultorest Memorial Park.
