Allen B. Broadhead
28 March 1943 ~ 09 September 2014
Hi, I am Allen Broadhead and I was born 28 March 1943, and I think I am speaking from heaven, at least I think this is heaven, it is so full of love and peace. Before I continue on to my next adventure there are a few folks who have shared my life and I would like to thank them for doing so. My wife of 48 years of which I was looking forward to spending another 48; yes dear you were a thorn in my side at times, however we did love and had a great deal of fun together. To our sons, you boys have turned into such wonderful young men and I am so proud of you; love you very much and will miss our time together. Thank you for the time you did share with me. Now to those grand blessings of grand children! Hey kids, sorry I wont be around to spend time with you, however I will be there watching so keep your noses clean, so if you feel a thump on the back of your head that will be me letting you know what ever you are about to so it is not one of your better ideas.
On 09 September 2014, I passed away at our home. I was 71 years of age and due to so many health problems I just could not stay around any longer; sorry kids but it was time for me to move on.
A bit of history concerning me as an individual, I was raised by some wonderful folks, Delbert and Berniece Jackson Broadhead. They ran a working cattle ranch in Duchesne, Utah; this is where my work ethics were formed. I shared the spot light with three other siblings, Brent J. (Dee) Broadhead, Coleen B. (Bill) Staley and our younger brother who left us at 19 years of age, Neil Delbert Broadhead. Thanks to mom and dad our childhood was full of wonderful experiences and the lesson of hard work.
Before coming to the Ogden area I received my entire education in Duchesne, Utah. During my high school years at Duchesne High, I received a full scholarship for Weber College to continue with a course of study which ended up being entomology. While attending Weber College I met my wife Jacqueline W. Broadhead, we married on 09 July 1966. I used to kid her about her not being able to remember the date of our marriage and it later became the family joke. The same year I graduated from Weber College I was drafted in to the Vietnam War and spent two and a half years serving Uncle Sam as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Army. After returning to civilian life I returned to my Federal Employment and we started a family. In February 1971 our first son arrived and in August 1973 our second son arrived. Talk about two different personalities? I enjoyed our children, riding the horses and working on the ranch with my father off and on, snowmobiling, motorcycle riding, and all the different folks along the way. Now that our children have grown and we are empty nesters we have traveled to Hawaiian Island, Mediterranean, and the borders of Canada, Alaska, and many other US states.
When our first born Randy Webb Broadhead married Kris Charleton, later divorced; there union left us a couple of grandsons, Carson and Mason; and believe me they are a couple of crackers. Randy has since remarried a lovely lady, Tracie Holderman and she brought a new granddaughter Kaylie into the mix for us to enjoy.
When Neil Scott Broadhead married Susie Pettingill and later divorced. We still came out winners, we got eight grandchildren; Colby, Shelby, Haylee, Caden, Cavin, Chason, Travis and Troy. Every one of these kids are wonderful children and we feel very blessed they are in our family!
Along the way of all this activity going on my wife and I acquired more extended family, Amber and Taelor Goodwin and Paul Yannacone, super good folks to have in ones life.
Well I have been informed by someone of a higher power that it is time for me to move on to the next stage and get re-acquainted with those folks that left before me. I am not saying good bye, just so long and we will meet again. Love you all and thank you for helping me through this life.
