Alma Gloria Zambrano was born July 19, 1964. She passed peacefully, surrounded by family on January 21, 2021.
It is our honor to tell you about the exceptional woman we were lucky enough to call mom.
Alma also known as “Big Mamma” was born in Morelia Michoacán, Mexico to Guillermo Bernabe and Alicia Najar. She was the 5th of 6 children.
Big Mamma grew up in California where she met her husband Jose Zambrano. They later moved to Ogden, Utah in 1996 and got married September of that year.
Alma was an amazing and happy human being who would make anyone who was around her feel special. She always made you feel welcome at her home. She was a very giving and caring person. She was the one always helping that person in need. She was not only the light of our home but was one who would brighten anyone’s day. She was always in a good mood, making jokes, clowning on whoever was around her, making people laugh. She was the life of the party. You could always find her home full of laughing family and friends. There was never a dull moment when being around her.
Alma enjoyed playing poker with the family. She loved music. Every morning as she cleaned, she had to have her music on full blast. She also enjoyed going to the movies. Above all, she loved spending time with her children and especially spoiling her grandchildren.
Alma is survived by her five children; Carolyn, Gloria, Gabriela, Josephine, Joe, and her eight grandchildren; Ashley, Adrian, Martin, Angel, Sophie, Hector, Mia, and Lorenzo.
She is now in heaven with her mother Alicia Najar, father Guillermo Bernabe, and her siblings Martha, Hector, and Horacio Bernabe where she will continue to be the life of the party.
