Arlene Elizabeth Kennedy, loving wife, mom, grandma, aunt and sister passed away November 30, 2022 surrounded by her loving family.
Arlene was the second eldest daughter born to Ed and Stella Atencio on March 20, 1942 in Park View, New Mexico. Arlene moved to Utah as a young girl and spent the rest of her life in Ogden, Utah.
Arlene married the love of her life, Rodney Dee Kennedy on May 25, 1963. Together, Rod and Arlene had three children; Brett, Kirk and Trisha. Arlene’s biggest joy and accomplishments were her children and six grandchildren; Chase, Talia, Jerica, Derek, Sean and Khloe Joy.
She was a devouted mother who spent her life in loving service of her entire family. She showed her love for her family and friends by making homemade meals without recipes, just love and skill. She was an outstanding seamstress and creative home decorator.
Arlene was only 5 feet tall, but her spirit was kind, giving, fierce and fiery. She was no nonsense and intensely protective of her family.
Arlene was predeceased by her son, Brett Kennedy. She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Rodney Dee Kennedy, son, Kirk (Andrea) Kennedy, daughter, Trisha Kennedy and grandchildren; Chase Wadman, Talia Kennedy, Jerica Kennedy, Derek Kennedy, Sean Kennedy and Khloe Joy Kennedy.
Arlene wished to have an immediate family private gathering versus a traditional funeral service. Friends and family may extend condolences to her residence address of 5010 Sunset Lane, Ogden Utah.
The Kennedy family wishes to express sincere appreciation for the support, love and care of Symbii Home Health and Hospice. Your professionalism, empathy and love shown to us during Arlene’s care was truly a Godsend for our family.
