Arnold H. Veits, 87, formerly of Niles, Ohio passed away after a brief illness. Arnold was born on 10 June 1935 in Southington, Ohio to Kenneth E. and Doris M. (Keeney) Veits. He is a direct descendant of Southingtons original settler, Luke Viets. In 1954, he married Mary Jane Fowler, and they spent 44 years in Niles, Ohio, and later moving to Farr West, Utah after retirement. He retired in 1998 with over 25 years of service as the Outside Grounds Keeper for the Howland Local Schools of Warren, Ohio. Arnold was preceded in death by Mary Jane (Fowler) Veits, his wife of 65 years; two sisters--Vivian (Veits) Fowler and Arlene (Veits) Cunningham, and brother Donald Veits. He is survived by his son, Kenneth D. Veits, Sandusky, Ohio, and his daughter Barbara A. (Veits) Gaehle of Farr West, Utah; 2 granddaughters, and 5 great-granddaughters. The family is grateful to the AMG, Seasons Assisted Living, and Inspiration Hospice Care personnel for their compassion and professional care. No services will be held, and burial will take place at a later date, in Ohio.
