Obituary

Celebrating 99 years of life, our inspirationalmother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great great-grandmother, peacefully passed SaturdayAugust 31, 2013, three weeks before her 100th birthday. Pauline was born in Frederick, Oklahoma on October 21, 1913, the daughter of Alice Cora Gordonand William ChalmarTownsend.She was the 6th of 7 children, spendingher childhoodin Lawton, Oklahoma .A year after graduation from Lawton High School, she married her lifelong partner Merrell Bullene. Pauline was a military wife while Merrellserved in the army, stationedat Fort Sill Oklahoma. They later moved to Wyoming where her husband worked on the Union Pacific railroad, and eventuallymoved their familyto Ogden, Utah . Together they established the Ogden Art Metal, a business they enjoyed until Merrells retirement. Together they raised 4 children and celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Pauline was a memberofThe First Christian Church and active inChurch Women United Fellowship, serving as President for several years.She was a Girl Scout leader and participated in The Evening Star and Rebekah organizations. She was a beautiful seamstress and loved to quilt , making over 100 creations for friends and family.She donation her time and projects to the Christmas Box and local care homes. Pauline was accomplished in making crafts of all kinds. Surviving are three daughters; Betty (Robert) Sward, Mesa, Arizona ; Paula (Bill) Christensen, Magna, Utah and Cindy (Jerry) Tobias, Ogden, Utah. She leaves 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 16 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was proceeded in death by her husband Merrell, son "Bud", all brothers and sisters, and many relatives. Graveside Services will be held Saturday Sept. 7, 2013, 1:00 p.m. at Leavitts Aultorest Park, 836 36th Street, Ogden. Friends may visit with the family from 11:45-12:45 p.m. at Leavitts Mortuary prior to Graveside service. Online condolences may be made at leavittsmortuary.com
