Barbara Jeneil Holmes Blackwood, 75, passed away peacefully at Ogden Regional Hospital on Friday, September 29, 2017.
Barbara was born July 22, 1942, in Brigham City, Utah, to Ralph G. and Maxine O. Holmes. She was the second of five daughters. Barbara grew up in Clearfield, Utah, and graduated from Davis High School. She was a single mother and her two sons, Scott and Chad were her world.
Barbara worked for Internal Revenue Service in Ogden, Utah, and the VA Medical Center in Tucson Arizona. She was an outstanding bowler and enjoyed bowling on leagues in Utah and Arizona. She crocheted countless afghans for friends and family. She also enjoyed reading, especially mystery novels. She loved to go camping and sitting by the campfire. Barbara made delicious fudge and divinity that she shared with everyone. On a visit to Puerto Rico Barbara learned to snorkel and was awed by the wonders under the ocean.
Barbara is survived by her sons: Scott Blackwood, Tennessee; and Chad Blackwood, Australia. She is also survived by her sisters, Sherlene Wood, Georgia Warren, Irene Genta, and Lorraine Martinez.
Per Barbaras request, there will be no services.
