At the amazing age of 95, Bernice Louise Furgeson passed away surrounded by family on October 17, 2021. She was born on September 5, 1926, in Richland, Missouri to Margaret and William Wagner. From a young age, Bernice was an animal lover and believed any animal or insect had potential to be a pet. Throughout her life, Bernice had pets ranging from deer to flying squirrels to praying mantis. She took great comfort in animals and birds were her favorite companions. Bernice loved spending time crocheting and embroidering for her family and friends, as well as donating baby blankets to local hospitals for NICU patients. She also loved traveling with her Senior Friends group, collecting rocks, playing scratch-off tickets, and teasing those around her. Bernice is survived by her six children: Robert Carver, Pat (Mel) Kelley, Larry (Shelly) Carver, Annette (Dennis) Carr, David Carver, Bobby (Donnelle) Stephens; her "adopted" children Liz (Silverio) Lozano and Joe (Marigelena) Diaz, 19 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and six great-great grandchildren. She was met at heavens door by the love of her life, Leonard Furgeson and her eldest son, Ron Carver and many beloved pets. Family will greet friends on Friday, October 22, 2021, from 6:00 -8:00 pm and 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
