Betty Lou Swanner July 1, 1928 - April 27, 2015 Betty Lou Swanner, 86, completed her earthly mission on Monday, April 27, 2015. She was born July 1, 1928 to Charles Clay Johnson and Maude Edna Ford in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Betty married her sweetheart Glen on March 7, 1943 in San Luis Obispo, California. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple for Time and Eternity. Betty enjoyed life and loved shopping and having lunch with the girls. She loved cooking Sunday dinners, visiting with family, bowling, camping, playing cards and anything that involved friends and family. Betty was best known for her neatly kept red hair, her infectious laughter and polite demeanor. She enjoyed working and had a lengthy career as a department store security officer at Weinstocks in the Ogden City Mall. Betty was a member of the LDS Church and loved singing in church meetings. She always had a smile and quick wit to greet you with. Betty is survived by four daughters and a granddaughter that she raised: Glenda (Steve) Packer, Sharon (John) Rausch, Dianne (Raymond) Frantz, Debbie Hovater and Shanna (Rory) Graves; 14 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren and nine great - great grandchildren. Betty is preceded in death by her sweetheart, Glen B. Swanner; a son-in-law and two grandchildren. Betty will be greatly missed by her family and loving caregivers. The family would like to thank Hospice for Utah and Caregivers Support Network for all their love and gentle care that was extended to them. Funeral Services will be held Friday, May 1, 2015 at 11:00 am at Leavitts Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden, Utah. Family will greet friends Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm and Friday prior to services from 9:45 to 10:45 am at Leavitts Mortuary. Interment will follow at Leavitts Aultorest Memorial Park.
