Beverly Ruth Wardley, age 89, of Riverdale, Utah, passed away on December 5, 2022. Beverly was born on November 21, 1933, to Howard and Elsie Childs in Gunnison, Utah. After Beverly graduated from South High in 1951, she studied at Weber State obtaining a Bachelor's in Nursing.
After graduating with a degree in the medical field, she went to work for Dee Hospital on Harrison Blvd. Later, when the new McKay Dee Hospital opened on 38th and Harrison, she became an RN in the Intensive Care Unit.
In 1980 she married Larry Wardley in Ogden, Utah, and they were married for 34 years until his passing on July 1, 2014.
Beverly retired in 1998 but later returned to the field she loved and worked for several more years. After she finally retired for good, her passion for gambling, warm weather and her daughters, drew her to Las Vegas.
Beverly had a few adventures she enjoyed in life. One was to spend it at a casino playing Keno or Bingo. Or you would find her sitting in her favorite recliner, surrounded by the love and comfort of her devoted Shih Tzu's Chester and Missy while playing Keno games on her iPad. And she always enjoyed visiting with family, but her daily routine consisted of conversations with her Son-In-Laws, her companions...David and Dennis. They faithfully sat and listened to her about politics or what was currently on TV. We all know how Beverly (Grandma liked to talk).
Beverly was a beautiful lady who meticulously started her day a certain way, these routines included morning coffee and watching Price is Right and Bold and Beautiful. Then the beautification began, she had to put on her make-up and do her hair. Her outfits included the bling, and she would never leave the house without the lipstick. Once these tasks were completed, she could then go out for the day. If anyone wanted to do anything with her, you knew to not plan any activity until after 1:00 pm.
Beverly was predeceased by Howard and Elsie Childs, her parents, Larry Wardley, her husband, Lisa Kaye Walker, her daughter, Shon Warren and Nick Lemons, her grandsons, and Heston Brain her Great-grandson.
Beverly is survived by one brother Stan Childs, and two sisters, Pat (Nolan) Gibson and Marilyn (Bill) Owen. five children, Sherry Smith, Debbie (Dave) Allred, Kathy (Dennis) Hatch, Danny Mower, and Kim Penman. 22 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren. Towards the later part of her years, she cherished the special bonds with her family, especially her great-grandchildren.
The family would also like to thank all the nursing staff at McKay Dee Hospital, who showed such compassionate and loving care towards our Mom during her stay, and the Intermountain Hospice Care team for all their compassionate and loving care they also gave to her and us during this difficult time.
Interment at Washington Heights Memorial Park.
