South Ogden Bonnie Mitton, 74, died May 7, 2016 of heart failure. She was born in Baltimore, Maryland on November 7, 1941. She was an only child of Lauren Robert and Beulah M. Tankersley Deitrich. Bonnie married Richard Rick Hansen Fairbourn in Baltimore, Maryland February 1964 and in 1968 they moved to Salt Lake City, Utah to establish roots in this beautiful state. They had three children who Bonnie loved very much and was proud of the fantastic adults they had become. In 1985 Rick and Bonnie divorced. On November 6, 1987 Bonnie married O. Lamar Mitton. On November 7, 1988, an important birthday, their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Bonnie worked for Key Bank, also known as Commercial Security Bank. She retired in 1996 after 15 years of service. Bonnie enjoyed decorating her home, singing, romance movies, word search and jigsaw puzzles, collecting cow things, taking photos of every family get together, reminiscing with her children and enjoying every minute with her husband, Lamar who she loved dearly. They were former single square dancers. Bonnie was active in her LDS wards and held various callings, mostly in the Relief Society. She loved attending church and the temple and had a very strong testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ. She spent a lot of time in prayer with her Heavenly Father and could feel his arms around her to give her his love, peace and comfort all her life. Bonnie is survived by her husband, Lamar Mitton; daughter, Wendy Ann Scott (Tim), sons, Adam Deitrich Fairbourn (Julie), Andrew Richard Fairbourn (Angie); 11 grandchildren; five great grandchildren who were very dear to her; step grandchildren, Geoffrey H. Mitton (Lorraine), Kendel Ann Mitton and their children. A Viewing will be held Thursday, May 12, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Leavitts Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden, Utah. Funeral Services will be held Friday, May 13, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Leavitts Mortuary. Friends may visit with the family prior to services from 10:00 to 10:45 AM.
