Brett Montaigne Archuleta, born in Ogden, UT on August 17, 1990, passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2024, leaving a legacy of love, adventure, and excellence. He resided in Salt Lake City, UT, and is deeply mourned by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
Brett is survived by his loving parents, Ursula Archuleta and Craig Archuleta; brothers, Eric (Lacee) and Nicholas (Chloe) Archuleta; sister, Alexis Archuleta; grandparents, Phil and Diana Montano, great grandfather, Julian Lovato; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and his faithful dog, Mora.
He is preceded in death by his aunt and Godmother, Phyllis King as well as his grandparents Manuelita and Agapito Archuleta.
Brett graduated from Northridge High School in 2008 and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Westminster College in 2012. He furthered his education at UC Berkeley for graduate school and excelled as a Software Engineer, earning respect and admiration from his colleagues. He was brilliant, excelling academically and professionally.
Brett's adventurous spirit took him on incredible journeys, hiking the John Muir Trail, biking around Iceland, France, Germany, Spain, and the UK. He was an accomplished musician, artist, baker, and weightlifter. Unpredictable, principled, funny, and beyond generous, Brett was quick to express his feelings, always honest and forthright. His kindness was evident in his relationships, and he was deeply loved by his siblings, who admired and looked up to him. His spirit of excellence inspired those around him. An avid reader and lifelong seeker of knowledge, Brett always had a book in hand and could often be found at a coffee shop, enjoying good coffee and great conversation. His love for reading and learning was a defining part of his character and led him to live all around the world. Brett's vibrant personality extended to his love for salsa dancing, and his quirky, happy dances always brought joy to those around him.
Brett shared a wonderful relationship with his grandparents, Phil and Diana Montano, who were a significant influence in his life, and a special relationship with his grandmother Maggie. Growing up, he had a close bond with his cousins, sharing many adventures including infamous suit nights.
Above all, Brett's life was guided by his profound faith in Jesus. His love for Jesus was a beacon of light for others, influencing his actions and decisions. Brett often expressed that all his accomplishments and talents were possible by the grace of God.
The family finds comfort in knowing that Brett is among angels. Brett's passing leaves a void in our hearts, but his spirit and memories will continue to inspire and guide us.
Services will be held at Leavitt's Mortuary on Friday, May 24th, in Ogden, UT. Family will greet guests from 5:00-7:00 pm, followed by a celebration of life at 7:00 pm.
On Saturday, May 25th there will be a rosary prayer service at 11:00 am at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Ogden, UT, with a funeral mass at 11:30 am. A luncheon will follow at Leavitt's Mortuary at 1:00 pm.
Rest in peace, Brett. Your light will forever shine in our hearts.
