With heavy hearts, we announce that Brett Dee Taylor passed away in his home on December 31st, 2024, at the age of 61.

On October 22nd, 1963, George and Irene Taylor welcomed Brett into the world surrounded by love, being the youngest of four at McKay Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah. Brett grew up and spent most of his life living in Riverdale, Utah. He attended and graduated from Bonneville High School in 1981. In August of 2011 Brett became the Manager at Standard Plumbing Supply in Roy, Utah and continued his work there until his passing. He was a great friend and colleague to everyone he came in contact with during his time there and will be missed.

One of Brett's passions was spending time outdoors. When he was younger, he was an avid hunter, especially bow hunting, and fisherman. He also loved camping, four-wheeling and sightseeing with friends, family and his beloved dog Sundance. As he got older Brett enjoyed working in the garden, spending time with his kids, and building model trains and cars. Trains had always been a love of Brett's from a young age. In his parent's basement he had dedicated his dad's old workshop into a model railroad layout where he would later take his kids to play while visiting his mother and siblings for Sunday dinners.

Brett will be greatly missed by all who loved him and was a great guy all around. He was willing to lend a helping hand whenever possible, especially for those he cared about. You could always count on a good conversation if you took the time to sit with him and visit. He will be remembered fondly for his kind heart and being a great father and friend.

He is preceded in death by his Father, George Alfred Taylor, Mother, Irene Myrtle DeGroot Taylor, and Brother, Brad Taylor. He is survived by his son, Jayden (Brianna) Taylor, daughter, Jericka (Benjamin) Bruderer, Granddaughters, Hayzlee, Journey, and Raelynn, Sister, Debbie (Steve) McCormick, Brother, Bart Taylor and many nieces and nephews.

Please join us in remembering Brett on January 17th, 2025, at Leavitt's Mortuary located at 836 36th Street, Ogden, Utah 84403. Services will start at 10:30 for the graveside burial and will be followed by a Celebration of Life and lunch at 11 a.m. inside the main building.
