IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Bryon Reese
Tomney
November 29, 1961 – August 5, 2024
With heavy hearts and great sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved dad, Bryon Reese Tomney, 62, of Roy, Utah. He passed away unexpectedly on August 5th, 2024.
He was born November 29th, 1961 to Lenord and Collette Tomney in Ogden, Utah, the youngest of four siblings. He grew up in Washington Terrace where he attended Bonneville High School and made many lifelong friends, who he stayed in touch with over the years.
Our dad was known for being an amazing father. We were able to count on him for anything at any time. We could always rely on him to be our biggest fan at soccer games, school assemblies, and dance recitals. There was no better feeling than looking in the stands and seeing him cheering and taking as many photos as he could.
He was the most genuine, caring person around. He was truly selfless and always put others before himself. The amount of sacrifices he made for us and others will never be forgotten. He put his whole heart into every role he played; father, son, brother, uncle, and friend. We always felt the immense love our dad had for us, and we will love him endlessly in return.
We will cherish the memories of our time together, including trips to Texas Roadhouse, miniature golfing, bowling, brunches, movies, and catching up in the kitchen - all of which were his favorite things to do with us. He loved animals and adored his two pets, Shelby and Oliver (Ollie).
Our dad loved listening to music and watching his favorite TV shows. He was a fan of Rush, James Taylor, Fleetwood Mac, and Scorpions, and enjoyed shows like Pawn Stars, American Pickers, The Price is Right, Survivor, and Big Brother. He was a big fan of football and basketball. He loved the Chargers and attended the Chargers versus Broncos game with his brother Kevin.
He had a successful career at the Smith's Distribution Center in Layton, Utah, where he dedicated over 25 years. He finished his working career at the IRS in Ogden, Utah. There he met many incredible friends who he held dear to his heart. He loved to tell us stories about them and it was clear that they were the reason work was enjoyable.
Bryon was predeceased by Lenord Tomney (Father), Collette Tomney (Mother), Sue Gilbert (Sister), Craig Tomney (Brother), and his dog Shelby. He is survived by Kylee Tomney (Daughter), Hannah Tomney (Daughter), Aubree Tomney (Daughter), Kevin Tomney (Brother), and his dog Oliver (Ollie).
