Buddy SpendloveBuddy James Lythgoe Spendlove, 80, Our beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather and Friend, passed away April 7, 2013 in the presence of his loving wife of 55 years, and his loving family. He was born March 13, 1933 to Sophia Lythgoe and Lorin Spendlove, in Ogden, Utah.He graduated from Ogden High School, then he joined the Navy and served two years in Texas. During his lifetime, he worked at The Hotel Ben Lomond, Hill AFB, Marquardt, Boeing, Hercules, Williams International and Flying J Corp. He was retired from Williams Intl. and Flying J. Corp and happily worked until age 77.He married Jeanette Barkdull Engstrom on November 27, 1958 in Las Vegas Nevada. He had 4 children, Scott Engstrom (Jeri), Diane Engstrom Carter (Ron), Kelly Vigil (Darrell), and Tod Spendlove. He had 7 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Jeanette, his brother Grant Spendlove and sister Janice Spendlove. He was preceded in death by his parents, Brother Roger Spendlove, 2 sisters, Margaret Hancock and Moline McEwen.He loved playing games and had many friends. He played Duplicate Bridge, Golf, Bowling, and played Cribbage with a long time friend. He also enjoyed going to Wendover. He very much enjoyed his family and spending time with them playing the games he loved, traveling and watching them grow.Buddy will be missed by many, and will be remembered by all, for his hugs, smile and friendly greetings.Special thanks to the staff of the McKay Dee Hospital for their compassionate care and kindness.Graveside services will be held on Friday, April 12, 2013, 2:00 p.m. at the Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch 1718 East Combe Road, South Ogden, Utah.
