Bula May Sortor, 81, our wonderful mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home in Ogden, Utah on Tuesday, July 11, 2017. Bula was born on September 22, 1935 in Baggs, Wyoming to Mamie and Mathew Reed. She was the youngest of 12 children. Bula married the love of her life Russell Lorin Sortor on May 9, 1953 in Idaho Falls, Idaho, they had five children together. They made their home in many states raising their children but eventually they retired in Samaria, Idaho, in 1997. She was very well known and active in the community. She was very kind, loved animals and all of Gods creatures. She worked as a Homemaker, for many county school lunch programs and retired at Senior Citizens Meals on Wheels in Malad, Idaho. Bula will be dearly missed by her family, friends and all that knew her. Bula is survived by her five children; Linda Janell Steed, Caryl Ann (James) Hill, Janet Marie (Mark) Cook, Russell Lorin (Laura) Sortor Jr., Rick Dee (Debbie) Sortor, 16 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, two brothers in law; Lloyd (Shirley) Sortor and Bill (Marsha) Sortor, and sister in law Marian Reed, along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Russell Lorin Sortor, her parents, four brothers, seven sisters, three grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, July 17, 2017, at 11:00 am at Leavitts Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden, Utah. Friends may visit with the family from 9:45 to 10:45 am prior to the service. Interment will follow at the Malad City Cemetery at 1:30 pm. The family would like to express thanks to Weber County Senior Companion Debra Wilson and all the staff at Hearts for Hospice, the family appreciates each and every one of you.
