Obituary

Capriece Lisa Hoskins left us to start the grandest party of all on July 7, 2025, at the age of 61, in her hometown of Ogden, Utah. Born on May 8, 1964, to the late Mariner Val Eccles and the still-spunky Valarie Eccles. Capriece is no longer in pain and is reunited with her dad and Grandma Shirley, whom she adored immensely.

Her husband, Todd Hoskins, was her partner in crime, often found chuckling at her playful antics and corny jokes. They began as high school sweethearts who went their separate ways for over 20 years. After finding each other again they spent almost 20 years happily married.

Capriece was married to Mark Miller for 20 years and raised two daughters, Cassie Gardner and Carli Williams, who inherited their mother's love for the outdoors. Capriece's biggest joys in her life were her grandsons, Wesley and Bodey, who were the apples of her eye.

Capriece never passed up an opportunity to go camping, boating or to indulge in all her favorite spicy foods. Friends knew her as the first to suggest a weekend getaway, whip up something spicy and delicious and the last to leave the campfire. Her love for a good party was infectious, and she could be found on the dance floor whenever one of her favorite songs came on. She was a firm believer that a red beer was a perfectly acceptable breakfast option, especially when the previous night's activities had run late.

As we bid farewell to Capriece Lisa Hoskins, we do so knowing that she would want us to remember the good times with a toast and a smile. Her spirit will continue to inspire us to find the humor in life's little moments and to cherish the time we have with our loved ones. Capriece, your corny punchlines may have reached their end, but the stories you've left us with are timeless. Keep the angels entertained and save us a seat at the campfire.

She is survived by her loving husband, Todd Hoskins, her daughters, Cassie Gardner (Brendon) and Carli Williams (Cameron), her grandsons, Wesley and Bodey, her mother, Valarie Eccles, and her sister, Denise Sagel (Dee). She was preceded in death by her father, Mariner Val Eccles.

Family and friends are invited to help celebrate Capriece's life on August 2nd, 2025, from 6:00-8:00 PM at Leavitt's Mortuary and Aultorest, 836 36th St in Ogden.
