Carl Anthony Vandestreek, 37, of Ogden, Utah left us too soon on October 21, 2013. Carl was born in Auburn, Washington, on May 20, 1976. His family moved to Ogden, Utah when he was a young boy. Carl grew up in Ogden and Washington Terrace, attended Bonneville High School, and graduated from Weber State University. He proudly received his Masters Degree in Library and Information Science from the University of North Texas. Carl was very intellectual and he valued knowledge highly. He enjoyed and took pride in his position as a supervisor for many years at Weber State Universitys Stewart Library and recently at the Weber County Library.
Carl enjoyed hiking and walking on Ogdens River Parkway and hiking trails. He also enjoyed snowboarding. Carl was an avid baseball fan and enjoyed traveling to other cities to watch his favorite teams play. He loved listening to and discovering new music, collecting and framing album covers of his favorite bands, and playing his guitars.
Carl is survived by his wife Joanne, mother, Marilyn Burton, sister and brother-in-law, Evonne and Jason Ames, and nephews, Ashton and Alex. Carl is also survived by many close friends in Ogden and around the country. Carl will be deeply missed.
A celebration of Carls life is planned for Saturday, November 2, 2013 at Big Dee Park at 1376 Park Blvd, Ogden, Utah (located at the east end of the Ogden River Parkway).
