Obituary

Carli Lynn Goddard"Cricket"Our daughter, Carli Lynn Goddard, a beautiful soul, entered our lives on the morning of March 4. 1985, and changed us all forever. She departed peacefully in the early morning hours of September 22, 2011, becoming another statistic of the insidious disease of addiction. Carli was the only daughter of Mitch and Darci Goddard, and she will be deeply missed. Carli was a bright and precocious child who loved nature and was in awe of the beauty of the world. She attended Roy and Ogden City schools graduating with a 4.0 GPA from Ogden High School in 2003. She graduated cum laude from Weber State University in December 2010, with her Associates degree and was working towards a degree in Health Services Administration. Carli loved art and expressing herself through writing. She felt closest to God when she was in the mountains or at the ocean, fishing, riding horses, and practicing yoga. Carli loved to laugh and had one of the most beautiful smiles the world has ever seen. She loved her family and her friends, and cared deeply about others-at times more than she cared for herself. She was preceded in death by her Grandfather Robert B. Goddard, whom she never met while alive but is now busy catching up with. Carli is survived by her parents, two brothers- Brady (Tiffanie) Hill of Eden and Sean Goddard of Ogden, and grandparents Larry and Deanna Hales of Pleasant View, and Carol W. Goddard of Ogden. She also leaves behind nephews Aiden and Connor Hill, whom she loved very much, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Carli made many friends while attempting to recover, and they meant so much to her and to us. A special warm thank you to the staff of Coldcreek Wellness for their continued love and support and for helping our family understand what she was up against. In lieu of flowers, a scholarship fund has been set up at Cold Creek Wellness in Carlis name to assist others (disadvantaged) in their struggle with addiction, P.O. Box 699 Kaysville, Utah, 84037. Please take the time to hug someone and let him or her know that your life is better because he or she is a part of it. Heaven has reclaimed our angel, but her spirit will always be with us on Earth. We love you sweetheart. Namaste Carli. (The light in me honors the light in you.)
