IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Carol
Goddard
January 3, 1931 – April 17, 2025
Carol Wheeler Goddard, our loving 94-year-old matriarch, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 17, 2025.
She was born on January 3, 1931, in Ogden, Utah, to Paul Leslie and Helen Elaine Wheeler who were longtime residents of Ogden. She had one younger brother James Paul (Jim) Wheeler who preceded her in death, in 2006.
Carol graduated from Ogden High School in 1949. She worked as a stenographer for Lowe and Huggins Attorneys at Law, and at Hill Air Force Base in the Comptroller's office. She volunteered for many years with the Junior League of Ogden and spent many hours performing puppet shows for Ogden Christmas Village and in the Ogden City Schools participating in enrichment programs that emphasized education.
She was married to her husband, Robert (Bud) B Goddard on June 14, 1952, in Ogden. He preceded her in death on December 21, 1983. She always missed the love of her life and reminisced frequently with family and friends about him and the fun times they shared.
Carol is survived by their 3 children, DeAnne (Dan) Eppich, Roy, Utah, Mitch (Darci) Goddard, Ogden, Utah, and Michele (Heber) Holm Littlefield, Arizona, 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, younger brother, and a granddaughter.
The joys of her life were her family, friends, home and yard. Her family all loved being with her whenever possible. She loved animals, and especially her dogs. They were great companions to her in her later years. She also loved her yard and took great pride and pleasure in making it beautiful and watching things grow. Carol was a long-time member of the Ogden Golf and Country Club. In her leisure time, she loved golfing, bowling and playing Bridge with her many friends, some lifelong. One of her greatest passions was to travel. She possessed a deep appreciation for learning about different cultures and traveled extensively across many continents, experiencing much of the world. Her love for exploration and life in general, along with her keen sense of humor and warm outgoing spirit live on through her children and grandchildren.
The family extends our sincere gratitude for the kindness, care, and support she received from the staff at Lotus Park Assisted Living, and Cascade Springs Hospice, especially sweet Maggie.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, a memorial donation be made to the Best Friends Animal Sanctuary at www.bestfriends.org/sanctuary or a charity of your choice.
Family graveside services were held on Monday, 21 April, at Washington Heights Cemetery 4500 Washington Blvd, Ogden, Utah.
Condolences may be shared with the family at www.leavittsmortuary.com. Services under the direction on Leavitt's Mortuary.
