Carol Jean Carr Reiva, 94, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family, leaving behind a legacy of faith, laughter, kindness, and unwavering devotion to those she loved.

Carol was born in Ogden, Utah, on November 5, 1931, to Ernest and Queenie Carr. She graduated from Ogden High School in 1949 and made Roy, Utah, her home for more than 70 years. On April 14, 1953, she married the love of her life, Martin Reiva Jr., in Elko, Nevada. Together they built a beautiful life centered on faith, family, and creating lasting memories.

Carol was the proud mother of four children: Tony (Debbie), Teresa, Todd (Dee), and Tamara (Steve). She was a devoted grandmother to eight grandchildren, a cherished great-grandmother to sixteen great-grandchildren, and a proud great-great-grandmother to three. Nothing brought Carol greater joy than spending time with her family. She loved organizing family reunions and gatherings, believing that time spent together was life's greatest blessing.

She began her career working in the bakery at Albertsons, where she discovered a love for baking that she shared with everyone around her. She later worked for the Internal Revenue Service, where she retired after many years of dedicated service.

Carol had a spirit of adventure and loved to travel, visiting destinations that included Alaska, New Orleans, and Hawaii. She generously volunteered her time with CASU, helping coordinate reunions, and also assisted in organizing Ogden High School class reunions. She had a special gift for bringing people together.

Known throughout the family as an exceptional baker, Carol made countless birthday and wedding cakes that became treasured parts of family celebrations. Her love was often expressed through the meals she prepared, the cakes she decorated, and the care she poured into every gathering.

A faithful member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Carol lived her faith through service, compassion, and love for others.

Carol will be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor and infectious smile. She was hilarious, always ready with a joke or a funny story, and she had an incredible ability to find the good in every person and every situation. Strong-willed, resilient, and endlessly optimistic, she faced life with grace and left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Queenie Carr; her sisters, Kitty and Julie; her beloved husband, Martin Reiva Jr.; her daughter, Teresa; and her grandson, Dave.

She is survived by her children, Tony (Debbie), Todd (Dee), and Tamara (Steve); her grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.

Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that Carol's legacy lives on in the family she loved so deeply. Her laughter, her beautiful smile, her unwavering faith, and the countless memories she created will continue to bless all who knew her. She taught us the importance of family, finding joy in life's simple moments, and always looking for the good. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.

A Funeral Mass celebrating Carol's life will be held at Leavitt’s Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden, Utah 84403, on Monday, August 3rd, 2026, at 2:00 PM, with a viewing held an hour prior, starting at 1:00 PM. Interment to follow at Aultorest Memorial Park, at the same location.
