Our beloved wife, mother, sister, and grandmother, Carol Lee Stout, 81, of Mesquite NV., peacefully passed away on Wednesday, June 7th, 2023, after a courageous battle due to complications caused by a stroke. She was surrounded by her loving husband and family.
Carol was born on November 19th, 1941, to Clarence Mann and Margaret Mann (Allen) in the bustling city of Casper, Wyoming. She was born into a large family with two brothers and four sisters. Carol attended and graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1961 where she had many lifelong friendships.
She met the love of her life and husband of 61 years, Dennis Stout, at the local car hop in Idaho Falls as teen-agers. They were married on June 10th, 1961, in Idaho Falls, ID. Carol and Dennis lived across the world while Dennis was serving in the Military. They spent time in Hawaii, Virginia, and Alaska where their son, Rodney Stout, was born. After completing Dennis’ service in the Navy, Carol and Dennis settled in the Ogden UT area where they lived for almost 30 years. Carol and Dennis spent the last 22 years in Mesquite NV. enjoying their retirement. They made some amazing friendships there and enjoyed their time in the warm weather. During her time in Mesquite, Carol was baptized and confirmed a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on September 20th, 2014. She was sealed to Dennis and her family for time and all eternity on November 14th, 2015, in the St. George UT. Temple.
Carol was a dedicated, loving wife and a wonderful mother, while always being an example of hard work and dedication to her family. She loved and embraced all her nieces, nephews, and sons’ friends as if they were her own. The first thing she would always say when someone came to her house was, “Can I make you a sandwich?” She was always motherly and caring to those around her. Carol loved to spend time with her large family. She enjoyed cooking, playing cards, and was always up for a good romantic comedy, but her priority was always to take care of, and serve, her family.
Carol was predeceased by her parents, Clarence and Margaret Mann, her brothers Tom and Jerry Mann, and her sisters Donna Larsen and Janice Capper. She is survived by her husband, Dennis Stout, son, Rodney Stout, daughter-in-law, Tonya Stout, her cherished grandchildren, Dylan, Paris and Luke Stout as well as her sisters, Leone Priest, and Pat Hersley.
The family would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the amazing and loving staff at Fairfield Village where they took exceptional care of Carol and gave her their abundant love and compassion.
Funeral services will be held at Leavitt’s Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden UT. on Friday, June 16th at 11:00 AM with a viewing preceding at 10:00 AM that same day and location. The graveside service will be on Saturday, June 17th, at 11:00 AM at Leavitt’s Aultorest Memorial Park.
