Our gift from God, Carole Bernal, returned to Him on Sept. 11, 2013 at the age of 66. Carole was born and raised in Ogden attending Ogden City Schools. At Ogden High Caroles drama teacher, Portia Douglas, introduced her to Frank Bernal who became her best friend, high school sweetheart and loving husband of 46 years. Carole graduated with honors from Bryman School as a medical assistant. Carole worked at Saint Benedicts Hospital, Ogden Regional Hospital, and for Dr. Darrell Dixon for a number of years. Carole and Frank loved to dance and sing. She sang in the church choir. Carole cherished her kids and family and was the calming force in their many mischievous endeavors. Carole was preceded in death by her father George Jensen, her mother-in-law Mildred Bernal, the Rev. Tom and Betty Buller and her granddaughter Devin Bernal. She is survived by her great husband Frank; daughter Portia (Scott) Yokel; sons, Corey (Marianne) Bernal, Tim (Cindy) Bernal and Dusty (Stacy) Bernal; 13 grandchildren: Allie, Shelbie, Brandon, Samantha, Caitlyn, Timarie, Jaden, Brandon, Brianna, Braxton, Mia, Haiden and Eli. She is also survived by her sisters, Pat, Susan, Kathleen, Barbie, Mary, Elizabeth, JoAnne; brothers Peter, Matt, her half brother Doug Gledhill, her best friend Jean Dolan, 23 nieces and nephews and 28 great nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff of Manor Care where Carole recently spent some months in their excellent care. They would also like to thank Dr. Dennis Smith and Dr. Mark Baxter for many years of continuous care. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Josephs Catholic Church 514 24th St. in Ogden. A viewing will be held on Friday, September 13, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. with a rosary at 7:30 p.m. at Leavitts Mortuary 836 36th St. Ogden.
