Obituary

Our precious angel, Cathilene (Cathy) Wanda Bailey Thorsted, peacefully passed away September 22, 2013, free to spread her wings. She was born December 28th, 1923 in Chehalis, Washington to Ivon Bailey and Laura Kitchel. On December 11th, 1943 she married George Russell Thorsted in Hoquiam, Washington, in her parents front room, which began a legacy of 70 years. They started a family together in Myrtle Creek, Oregon after the war. They had 2 sons, William (Bill) and Gary Thorsted. She enjoyed tending to her roses, gardening, dancing, camping, the beaches of Oregon and Washington, and mostly, spending time with her family. She took pride in her family and never let a moment go by that they didnt know they were loved. She worked at Boeing and IRS and was known as "Rosie the Riveter" during the war. She had a special gift of capturing the hearts of all who met her. Wise words from an amazing lady that knew what she was doing: "My advice to my children and grandchildren as they marry, is to be open, honest, share the good, The easy and The hard. find the easiest and the best solution for both of youAnd be happy As you have children, let them know and feel that they are loved. Let them have no questions that they belong there. Be good to your children and dont lose your temper." - - With love, Cathy She is survived by her husband, George Russell Thorsted; sons, William Thorsted, Gary Thorsted; grandchildren, Michael (Elisabeth) Thorsted, Greg (Donna) Thorsted, Amie (Robert) Jensen Barbeiri and 7 great grandchildren. She loved each and every one of them beyond measure. Her contagious hugs and smile will be missed but never forgotten. A special thank you to all of the staff at Crestwood Care Center and Emeritus for the loving care they gave her. Graveside Services will be held Friday Sept. 27, 2013, 2:00 p.m. at Aultorest Memorial Park, 836 36th Street, Ogden. A viewing will be held Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Leavitts Mortuary, 836 36th Street. Online condolences may be made at leavittsmortuary.com
