Cecelia R. Ellis's Obituary

"Together Again" Cecelia R. Ellis passed away in Kansas City, Missouri on November 11, 2016 at the age of 96 after visiting family members in Warrensburg. Cecelia loved traveling with family and spent three wonderful days touring her granddaughters new home watching her great-grandson play in the leaves and enjoying the great weather and beautiful scenery. Born in Hays, Kansas on April 7, 1920, she was the fifth of seven children born to Ignatius S. Sanders and Catherine Florence Bieker. Cecelia met and married Oren Leedrue Ellis, the love of her life, in Denver, Colorado on October 29, 1939. The family moved to Utah in 1943. Both Oren and Cecelia worked at Hill Air Force Base before transferring to the Naval Supply Depot in Clearfield, Utah. Oren and Cecelia were very active in the Layton American Legion. After retiring, they traveled extensively with their camper club and many close friends. Later they moved to Duchene, Utah, Washington, Utah, and Littleton, Arizona, before eventually returning to the Ogden area in 1992. After Orens death and until her own, Cecelia continued to travel with her family on yearly trips to many interesting places in the U.S. In addition to her love of traveling, Cecelia was an avid porcelain doll collector for many years. She also enjoyed her daily newspapers, crossword puzzles, and coupon collecting routines. The family would like to thank a very special friend of Cecelias, her neighbor, Vivian Nyman, West Point, Utah. Vivians daily visits were a highlight of Cecelias life, something she looked forward to as much as her family trips. And Cecelia and her family very much appreciated Vivians thoughtfulness and daily assistance to Cecelia with her mail, paper, and various other daily activities. She helped make Cecelias life fun and interesting.
