Chanhday Darasouk passed away on May 16, 2021, surrounded by her family. She was born October 10, 1959 to Thieng and Lod Chantaton in Vientiane, Laos. Chanhday married Thongsy Darasouk on April 15, 1975.

She and Thongsy escaped communism in Laos in 1979. After two years in a refugee camp in Thailand, they immigrated with their daughters, Vannaly and Sinakhone, to the United States and made Utah home, where their third daughter, Lisa, was born. Chanhday was a beloved mother, grandmother, and wife who enjoyed cooking, hosting, and spending time with her family and friends.

Chanhday is survived by her husband, Thongsy and children: Vannaly, Sinakhone (Garry), and Lisa (Toby), grandchildren: Evan, Kylee, and Maeli, siblings: Phai Channakhone, Vilay (Frank) Souvannaphong, and Boualay Khammany.

She is preceded in death by her parents Thieng and Lod, Grandma Allie Lee Lawler, brother Kai, brother-in-laws Thongvanh Khammany, Khamsing Darasouk and niece Mary Channakhone.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 5, 2021. Visitation will be from 12:00-2:00 p.m. followed by the service at Leavitt’s Mortuary at 836 36th Street, Ogden, Utah 84403.
