Obituary

The Silent Giant, Charles Allen, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, August 26,2024, of natural causes. Charles was born on November 30,1928 in Bellevue, Kentucky to Blanche and Charles Allen.

Charles lived a life of quiet service, never seeking praise or recognition, but leaving a wave of goodness in his wake. He faithfully served his country for 22 years in the US Air Force, and while stationed at Hill AFB he met the love of his life, Reba Mae Amos. They were married on September 1, 1950, in Ogden, Utah. They are the proud parents of son Mark C. Allen. They traveled the world with the military, serving in Texas, Germany, Delaware, Washington D.C., South Korea, Colorado, Illinois, California, and Thailand before retiring at Mather Air Force Base in California. Upon retirement, they moved to Washington Terrace, Utah.

After retiring from the Air Force, he went to work for Boeing, Ogden City Schools, US Forest Service, Williams International, and DDO. He was a fastidious and dedicated worker and strived to make the world around him better. He enjoyed serving on the Washington Terrace Planning Commission for over 20 years, where he used his time and talents to improve his community. He was also a devoted member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church.

Charles loved supporting all his grandchildren and great grandchildren's sports games and activities. Nothing brought him more joy than to watch his progeny chase their dreams. Except maybe ice cream. Charles really loved his ice cream.

Charles' greatest blessing was his family. Charles is survived by his loving wife, Reba of 74 years, his son, Mark C. Allen (Holly), three grandchildren, Amy (Mike) Hadley, Jason (Aubrey) Allen, Mandy (Jake) Tobin, and 9 great grandsons, Ryker Allen, Kade Hadley, Asher Allen, Zander Allen, Nash Hadley, MacGyver Allen, Hayes Hadley, Macklin Tobin, and Ridge Tobin.

The family would like to thank Mia and Ronal for their love and tender care shown to Charles for the past several months.

Graveside services will be held August 30th at 10:00 a.m. at Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road, Ogden, Utah.
