Charles Leslie Meeler's Obituary

Oh my how do I even start this.my husband and companion in life decided he was done with this world and left us on 3 May 2017 very peacefully in his sleep. He was an amazing husband, father, son, and friend that would do anything for you. Those that knew him would agree. Charlie came kickin and screamin on Thanksgiving Day in 1962, couldnt let the turkey have all the glory! He was born in Huntsville, Alabama to proud parents Les and Mary. Living life to the fullest, he was a swimmer in high school not only in Huntsville, but Eugene, Oregon. He had Olympic dreams that unfortunately didnt happen, but still swimming every day until his passing. He joined the United States Air Force in 1982 with his first assignment being Hill AFB where we met, dated, then married in 1984. He always said he would never marry until he was 45.hahaha. He left the military in 1992 where he tried to find a job he was happy with. Levelor window blinds was his next career for eleven years until they took their plant out of the country. He went back to school learning to be a machine operator and computer programmer which helped him get a job at Barnes Aerospace running a waterjet, working there for 14 years. Many hobbies kept him (us) busy from jetskis, snowmobiles, scuba diving, to racing.yes I said racing! Not my most favorite, but it kept him happy. Another was Sunday LOW budget science fiction movie day, which I will truly miss sharing with him. He was an awesome father to our two beautiful children, Natasha and Chad, from teaching them how to swim as infants, to driving as teenagers and picking them up in the middle of the night. This man left us way too early and is going to be missed by many!
