Cheryl Beckstead Simpson Cheryl Beckstead Simpson, 73, died peacefully in her sleep, Sunday, July 3, 2011.She was born September 30, 1937 in Preston, Idaho the seventh of eight children born to Carl Foster and Vida Roskelley Beckstead. Mom grew up in Whitney, Idaho and was a graduate of Preston High School where she was involved with the thespians, sports and participated in the band as a percussionist. She was also a graduate of Stevens Henager Business College. Cheryl married Philip Hart Nash in Logan, Utah on June 18, 1956. She later married Boyd McCormick Simpson on September 2, 1963 and they made their home in Layton, Utah. After several years in Layton, she moved to Ashton, Idaho where she managed a motel. She later moved to Clearfield, Utah where she lived the remainder of her years retiring from Fram where she worked for over 20 years. Mom was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and was always involved in scouting and sports which she enjoyed tremendously. She enthusiastically cheered on the Jazz, BYU Cougars and Chicago Cubs and was possibly their biggest fan. Family was important to mom and her home in Clearfield was often a destination point for family passing through. She made sure that each felt welcomed and loved. Until we meet again mom, thanks for your guidance, sacrifice and love. Cheryl is survived by her children, Philip DeLyn and Jan Ross Nash of Kaysville, Utah and James Kelly and Jeralie Crittenden Nash of Ashton, Idaho. She has 13 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Thayle Wynn, Jeannine Anderson and Laurel Perry and sister-in- law, Kathlean Jewkes Beckstead. She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Jocelyn Grow, Enid Hill, Carolyn Schofield; brother, Carl E. Beckstead; sons, Dell Glen and Cornell Bud Simpson and grandson, Philip Shaun Nash. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 9 at 11:00 a.m., Haight Creek chapel,1650 S. 500 E., Kaysville. Friends and family may call Friday, July 8 from 6 to 8 p.m., Leavitts Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden and Saturday 10:00 a.m. prior to services in Kaysville.
