Heaven gained another angel on December 21, 2022, when Chris passed away at her home with her loving husband by her side. Chris was born on April 12, 1949, In Ogden, Utah to Frankie and Maurice Cottam. She graduated from Ogden High School in 1967. She worked at the IRS for 37 years where she made many lifelong friends. It was at the IRS that she met her best friend and husband Steve Mikesell. Chris and Steve were married on December 19, 1969. They had 53 beautiful years of loving and taking care of each other. Chris was a strong woman who had many health issues most of her life yet, she never let them slow her down. You would find her speeding around town on her motorcycle every summer. She loved golfing, and enjoyed watching sports, especially the Utah Jazz. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and spoiling her animals (who sometimes we think she loved more than us.) Chris is survived by; her husband, Steve; daughter, Shari Rasmussen; brothers, Jeff (Lana) Cottam; John Cottam, her grandchildren; Keegan (Ashley); Marlee Rasmussen, and two great grandchildren; Justin and Julianna. She was preceded in death by her parents. There are not enough words to describe how much we will miss her contagious laugh, her love of baking and her stubbornness that kept us all on our toes, even until the end. Most of all we will miss her unconditional love. The family would like to thank the staff at Intermountain Home Care and Hospice, especially Julie, who became not only Chriss nurse but her friend. A small service will be held to Celebrate Chriss life on December 30, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Leavitts Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden, Utah. Viewing for family and friends will be prior from 9:45 a.m. ~ 10:45 a.m. also at the mortuary. Interment Leavitts Aultorest Memorial Park.
