Christian Ian Flores's Obituary

Christian Ian Flores, 23, passed away August 30, 2018. Christian was born September 20, 1994, to Sergio Flores and Charlotte Young Flores in Pomona, CA He attended Ekstrand Elementary School, Lone Hill Middle School, Rocky Jr. High and graduated from Fremont High in 2012. He also attended Dixie State University. No other words can describe Christian better than "Free Spirit". He was someone who lived his life to the fullest and with his own rules and timeline. At times I found myself frustrated by it, but now I see he lived his life his way and he enjoyed many passions. Early on Christian shined on the soccer field. Our father was so proud to have a boy so gifted in the game. He played for Glendora FC in California, La Roca FC in Utah and lettered in varsity soccer at Fremont High School. He was even offered an opportunity to play with a professional soccer team in Mexico. I sometimes wonder where he would have been had he accepted that chance. We also spent every Christmas taking Christian snowboarding. I think thats where his passion for the mountains began. He loved to snowboard. He loved to camp. He loved to hike. He loved the outdoors all together. But ultimately, his greatest passion was for music. So many of his friendships and connections sprung from that love. He was a wonderfully talented drummer. Christian was also self-taught on the guitar and piano. Christian was generous with his passion as well. He took great pleasure having jam sessions with his band mates and his nieces and nephew. He taught them whatever he could. We will all remember him for his musical talent. Christian was beloved by his friends and family and will always remain someone dear to us. He is in great company with our Papi, Charen our brother, Jodi his brother in law & godfather and all of his grandparents. Perhaps its clich to say, but only the good die young. I truly believe that now. I hope he is out there in a parallel universe, playing rad music and enjoying the transcendental life. We love you Chicken and will forever miss you. He is survived by his mother, Charlotte Flores; sisters: Charam La Fata, Cheyanne Flores; nephew, Aidan La Fata; nieces Mia La Fata and Kennedy La Fata. He is preceded in death by his father, Sergio Flores; brother, Charen Flores, brother-in-law, Jodi La Fata; and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
