Christopher Kay Canto, 42, passed away on February 7, 2025. Chris was living in South Jordan at the time of death. A long-time resident of Ogden, he also lived in Salt Lake City.

Christopher was born on August 15, 1982, in Payson, Utah to parents Lorrie Slaugh Parker and Ronald Lee Canto (deceased). Christopher was raised by Lorrie and Glen Parker.

After graduating from St. Joseph High School, Ogden, Utah in 2001, Christopher graduated from Weber State University with a degree in Computer Science.

He was a highly skilled IT professional administering and managing computer systems for Associated Foods, Strong Connexions, Tyson Foods, and most recently The OCD and Anxiety Center in the Salt Lake City, Utah area.

Christopher was fun-loving and sometimes even silly when engaging with his kids. He loved the Dallas Cowboys and had a running joke with his dad, Glen, about the team's wins and losses especially against the Washington Commanders. Chris loved photography and often spent time in the local canyons, in the West Desert, and at Wheeler Farm with his camera. As an Eagle Scout, he enjoyed camping and hiking with Troop 4. His faith in Jesus was a significant anchor throughout his life beginning as a young teen attending Washington Heights Church.

Christopher was preceded in death by grandparents Dale and Kathryn Slaugh, Jack and Norma Canto and father Ronald Canto. He is survived by parents Lorrie and Glen Parker (Springfield, VA); sister Malisa (Brian) Ellis; nieces Sydney Ellis, Eliza Ellis, and Genevieve Ellis (Boston, MA); former wife Janese Simson, the mother of Christopher's beloved children: Madison Canto, Meagan Canto, and William Canto (West Haven, Utah).

A gathering to celebrate Chris's life will be held at Leavitt's Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden, UT on February 19th at 1pm. A luncheon reception will follow.
