He taught those around him to never give up, to push through life's challenges, and to appreciate the beauty of God's creation.
Christopher “Blue” Granath was born January 31, 1975. He left this world on June 17, 2026. He was 51 years young.
“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore, we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling.” Psalm 46:1-3.
Blue was an entrepreneur from the very beginning. As a young boy, he and his sister would wade into the water hazards at El Monte Golf Course, collect golf balls, and sell them back to golfers. Even then, Blue had a remarkable ability to turn hard work into opportunity.
Growing up, he spent countless hours trapping, exploring, hunting, fishing, and adventuring along the river with his family. His love for the outdoors never faded. He found great joy in nature and was happiest when he was hunting, fishing, or sharing those passions with his children.
He will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, hardworking nature, love of family, kindness, laughter, and the countless memories he created with those he loved.
Blue was a strong, independent, and highly skilled man. He possessed an impressive range of talents, including hunting, fishing, trapping, mechanical work, improvisation, and self-reliance. He loved learning how to live off the land and had a natural ability to solve problems. Whether facing a challenge in the outdoors or in everyday life, he approached it with determination, intelligence, and resourcefulness.
More than anything, Blue cherished his children. They were his greatest pride and his most important legacy. His love, guidance, strength, and adventurous spirit has lived on through his sons, Skyler Blue Granath (deceased) and Bridger Roy Granath, and his beloved daughter, Aspen Leigh Granath.
Blue was also a loving brother, father, mentor, and friend. He taught those around him to never give up, to push through life's challenges, and to appreciate the beauty of God's creation. He never missed an opportunity to share his knowledge, his faith, and the lessons he believed were important.
Like many lives, Blue's journey was not without struggles. But those challenges did not define the man he was at his core. He will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, hardworking nature, love of family, kindness, laughter, and the countless memories he created with those he loved.
To his sister, she was simply "Sis"—the name he always called her and a reminder of a lifetime of love, familiarity, and connection. His voice, his stories, and the memories they shared will live on forever.
Though our hearts are broken by his passing, we find comfort in knowing that the lessons he taught, the love he gave, and the legacy he leaves behind will never be forgotten. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Blue is preceded in death by his father, Christopher Roy Granath, his sister, Amber Honey Granath, and his son, Skyler Blue Granath.
He is survived by his son, Bridger Roy Granath, his daughter, Aspen Leigh Granath, his daughter-in-law, Maddie Palmer, four beautiful grandchildren, his mother, Linda (Blake) Murray, his sister, Brandie (Shane) Drake, stepbrothers Trebor (Melanie) Murray, Christopher (Megan) Murray and Tyler (Natalie) Murray.
Rest peacefully, Blue. You were loved more than words can express, and you will never be forgotten.
